Equalization Aid
SOURCE Net Option FundingThe method by which districts are paid for the students who option to their schools has been a consistent item of discussion with regard to the state aid formula. (The Enrollment Option Program was created in 1989, just a year before the passage of LB 1059 and the implementation of TEEOSA.) Finally, in 1996 the Legislature passed legislation (LB 1050) to utilize a system of net option funding so that both equalized and non-equalized school districts would receive compensation for students "opting-in."
